I have loved photography since my parents gave me my first Instamatic camera when I was a child.
Through the Eye Photography was borne many years later, as my hobby, and the name inspired from the song by Michael Card, "Through the Eye." It speaks of the comparison of seeing life "through" the eye of God, rather than "with" the eye. And as the years went by, and my photography hobby grew, and my love for and relationship with God grew, my prayer and desire became that my photographs would be a reflection of God and what it is like to see the beauty that surrounds us, in the simple and the extraordinary, through His eye.
So it’s hard for me to really take credit and hold onto all the kind and sincere comments people have made, although I truly appreciate them – because these are really His photographs, and it’s been my pleasure, privilege and joy to take them and share them with my family and friends – and now you.
I hope that you will enjoy them, and see that beauty.
My photographs have been taken near and far – from my yard, to wherever I happen to be in the U.S., to other countries. And my dream would be to continue, at a different level. I would like to thank my sons – Matt, Jake and Sam – for their love, support and prodding to pursue this dream, and for their patience while they waited at every turn in the road (literally) for the next photograph, and the next, and the next . . . . Thanks also to my family and many friends who have encouraged me for years and nodded and sighed when asked the question, “Do you really like it?” But mostly, I thank God for the gift.
